The School of Language and Communication will be delivering the “Mic Drop! Conquering the Stage” event for secondary school students on 27 May, at DISTED College. Distinguished guests including famous TV host Mr Baki Zainal and Prof Dr Andy Litau Hickson, Dean of Communication and Liberal Arts (HELP) are invited to share educational opportunities and potential career pathways in broadcast journalism, mass communication and many more. This event is designed to provide an opportunity for students to understand challenges in the mass communication field in the industry 4.0 era. Beside talks by our invited guests, there will be other activities such as creating newscasters and a photography challenge specially designed for students to explore the real world of broadcast journalism. In addition to the activities, students who score the highest marks will walk away with a hamper prize worth RM100. “It is a great pleasure having Baki Zainal and Prof Dr Andy Litau Hickson at our event. I hope their talks and sharing session will provide valuable insights in the area of communication and persuade more students to enrol in our mass communication programmes. Students who have interest in this area are welcome to attend this workshop which I believe is a good platform for them to understand and gain knowledge on mass communication.” said Ms Nadia Jefri, Head of School of Language and Communication.
